JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Supporters of two proposed constitutional amendments are giving up their fight to get on the November ballot.
The secretary of state's office had rejected initiative petitions for proposals to limit government spending and restrict eminent domain. A Cole County judge later upheld that decision. Both measures had been sponsored by the group Missourians in Charge, which wanted to appeal to the Missouri Supreme Court.
But the Supreme Court sent the cases back to the Western District appeals court.
Group organizer Patrick Tuohey says he interpreted that move to mean the high court wasn't too excited about his case. He also says time was running out to make the November ballot.

It's a real shame the eminent-domain issue won't be on the ballot. Looks like property rights is pretty much as outmoded as states' rights...
Too bad. We used to be a great country.
(sarcasm off)
"Still", perhaps, but losing that greatness... at the hands of an ever-expanding Almighty Federal Government.
The Founding Fathers, were they to walk among us today, would probably insist on going straight back to being dead. They couldn't even begin to fix the mess we've been voting ourselves into, these past few decades...
