Coming off their big (albeit expected) wins on primary night in Missouri, Sen. Jim Talent now leads by a nose in the U.S. Senate race against Claire McCaskill in the latest Rasmussen poll. This month, it's 46-44 Talent. A month ago, McCaskill has ahead 45-42.
Why did he go up? British terror plot bump? The barrage of media buys since the primary? Maybe the sample ate toast for breakfast instead of cereal.
Let's face it -- the only poll that counts is the one on November 7. The polls only give us a snapshot of now and the picture we're getting is this race is close.

If his number went from 42 to 46 and the margin of error is 4 then we don't know he went up. It could be just another reading within the same margin of error.
