SurveyUSA: McCaskill Wins St. Louis Debate

A SurveyUSA insta-poll taken immediately following the St. Louis U.S. Senate debate shows Democrat Claire McCaskill winning the contest over Republican Sen. Jim Talent by more than 20 percentage points.

The poll included 572 pre-recruited debate watchers in the St. Louis area.

54% of respondents thought McCaskill won the debate; 32% gave the nod to Talent.

41% of those polled came away with a less favorable opinion of Sen. Talent.
58% of those polled came away with a more favorable opinion of Claire McCaskill.

The margin of error on these numbers is about +/- 4%.

Keep in mind, this is St. Louis. No breakdown of city versus suburbs, other than we know the poll was taken in 16 St. Louis TV viewing counties.
