Blunt renews support for stem cell amendment

Give him credit for courage: Missouri Governor Matt Blunt repeated his support for Amendment 2 (the stem cell amendment). According to the A.P, Blunt says it's necessary to ensure that Missouri has a research climate that allows for responsible scientific research.

Blunt's support separates him from other big time Republicans like Sen. Jim Talent and President Bush who don't support stem cell research. Blunt once again puts himself at odds with Missouri Right to Life, which has previously declared Blunt NOT pro-life because of his support of the amendment.

2008 will be the big test. Will MRL endorse a third party just as the have endorsed me this election because the GOPer is pro death? Or will they endorse Matt because he is the lesser of two evils?
